The city council of Amsterdam has decided to apply for .Amsterdam as soon as possible. And they need to move quick for sure since the application round closed on april 12th. So the decision is rather late. The city council feels that Amsterdam needs a TLD of their own along with .NYC and .Paris. Amsterdam council member Liselore van der Heijde clains :"A TLD is excellent for marketing and is excellent for companies and organisations that have ties with Amsterdam".
